How Does the EMFACE Procedure Feel and How Is It Done?

Here’s how it works

HIFES

EMFACE uses a method called HIFES to make muscles contract. This method sends electrical signals that cause the nerves controlling muscles to activate, making the muscles tighten. In the EMFACE treatment, these muscle contractions switch between the muscles in your cheeks and forehead or target both areas at once. For the forehead, it focuses on the frontalis muscle. For the cheeks, it targets three muscles: the zygomaticus major, zygomaticus minor, and the risorius. A single EMFACE session sends out 75,000 electrical signals to get those muscles moving. And the whole thing only takes 20 minutes.

Synchronized RF

EMFACE also uses a kind of radiofrequency called synchronized, unipolar RF. This RF energy warms up the tissues. The EMFACE applicators are really good at delivering RF, heating the skin to the perfect temperature of 40 to 42 degrees Celsius quickly. This warmth is carefully controlled so it’s just enough to create new collagen and elastic fibers in the skin without harming the facial fat. There’s also a milder warmth for the muscles, between 39.5 and 40 degrees Celsius, getting them ready for better contractions.

EMFACE treatments are comfortable and don’t hurt. The applicators are designed to fit the shape of your face nicely, and although the feeling is unusual, it’s not painful. What Is the Treatment Plan?

Getting ready for an EMFACE treatment is easy. You don’t need to do anything special beforehand, and there’s nothing you need to do after. Just make sure your face is clean. Come in without any makeup or skincare products on. These can mess with how well the EMFACE patches stick to your skin. Before the treatment starts, your face will be cleaned with alcohol or a cleansing pad to get rid of any oils or leftover skincare products.

A typical EMFACE session lasts for 20 minutes. The experts suggest having 4 treatments for the best outcome. It’s best to have these treatments once a week, but if needed, you can spread them out over a 2 to 14-day period. You’ll start seeing the best results about 6 to 12 weeks after finishing all four treatments. Right after your first treatment, your face will feel tighter and more lifted, and most people notice the difference right away.

The area treated with EMFACE might feel a bit warm and look reddish or pink for a few hours to a few days after the treatment. This is normal and should go away on its own. Sometimes, the reaction could be a bit stronger if you’re sensitive to the adhesive in the patches. But don’t worry, most people get back to their usual activities right after their EMFACE treatment.
